Luxury Hotels in Sydney – Explore The Best
|Luxury Hotels in Sydney With Excellent Locations
Luxury hotels in Sydney are found in several areas of the city, but three of the most highly recommended are conveniently located in the Rocks area close to Circular Quay.
This preferred location allows for easy walking to luxury activities such as the Sydney Harbor Bridge Climb, the Sydney Opera House, Harbor sightseeing boats, water taxis to Taronga Zoo, and my favorite gelato stand, Gelatissimo, at Circular Quay.
The Park Hyatt ………. Premier Among The Luxury Hotels in Sydney
The Park Hyatt Hotel sits in the shadow of Sydney Harbor Bridge and directly across from the Sydney Opera House. The unobstructed view of the Opera House from many of the rooms, as well as the main dining room, is a unique feature and allows the hotel to command very high rates for its elegant rooms and suites, even by comparison with other luxury hotels in Sydney.
After an extensive renovation that closed the hotel for a year, the Park Hyatt re-opened in February 2012. Often proclaimed by its guests as the best of the luxury hotels in Sydney for its service and incomparable views, it maintains an aura of exclusivity in Australia and abroad.
The Four Seasons Hotel …….. Closest to Circular Quay
The Four Seasons Hotel is conveniently located just cross the street from Circular Quay making it very quick and easy to access all of the major points of interest nearby. Many excellent restaurants are within easy walking distance, as well as the Contemporary Art Museum, currently hosting an exhibit by Yoko Ono.
Shopping on George Street is noteworthy, and Giulian’s, the esteemed opal designer for the Sydney Olympics in 2000, is located on Level 3 of the hotel complex.
As another of the luxury hotels of Sydney with full Opera House views from some of its rooms and suites, The Four Seasons is also very much in demand by business and vacation travelers. Some of the larger rooms with full harbor views can also add two extra beds for children or reserve a connecting room with twin beds.
Shangri-La Sydney Hotel …….. Overlooking Darling Harbor
When observed from a distance, the Shangri-La Hotel and The Four Seasons Hotel appear to be side by side on the skyline. However, the Shangri-La sits up on a hill behind The Four Seasons and requires a walk up three steep blocks when approached from George Street.
The Darling Harbor king rooms are spacious and offer mesmerizing panoramas of many kinds of graceful boats sailing around the islands and peninsulas of Darling Harbor. This view can be comfortably enjoyed from the built-in window seats.
To see both Sydney Harbor and Darling Harbor, you can go up to the 36th floor of the Shangri-La rooftop bar, Blu, or the fine dining restaurant, Attitude, for spectacular vistas of the Opera House and busy water traffic through massive floor to ceiling glass windows.
Also noteworthy at the Shangri-La Hotel are a large well-equipped fitness center and a comprehensive spa facility. A massage from one of the excellent massage therapists after your long flight to Sydney will make you feel like new.
As you can well imagine, a stay at any of these luxury hotels in Sydney will only enhance your visit to one of the most beautiful and welcoming cities in the world. It is a trip you will want to make at least once during your lifetime.
